Crofthead Biogas

Deal Overview

Iona Environmental Infrastructure LP3 invested in Crofthead Biogas in September 2018. The plant is a uses agricultural wastes for the majority of its feedstock.  This primarily includes farmyard manure and slurry from large dairy and beef cattle farms. 

 

The project is being delivered by BioConstruct who has over 15 years of experience in engineering and delivering biogas plants, and offers a qualified management service throughout the facilities lifecycle. 3B construction are the organisation conducting the projects civil works.

The facility is located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland and is capable of processing up to 60,000 tonnes of agricultural waste per year and generating 8MW of energy through the injection of gas to grid.

 

The plant was pre-accredited for the new biomethane RHI tariff, which is a part of the governments environmental programme to support renewable energy projects across the UK.
